Why can’t I hold onto that word, its meaning? I keep forgetting, keep looking back, only to forget again. Maybe it goes deeper than cognitive dysfunction to a heart dysfunction. Am I incapable of being truly thankful, not just for the bad things, but for the good things as well? Am I so ungrateful that I can’t see the good through my ingratitude?
I hope not.
2. I am thankful for Miss Elrod and Mrs. Pennington, for their encouragement, even for the caliber speech. I am thankful for their belief in my potential.
